Early Life and Education

Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron was born on December 21, 1977, in Amiens, France. He is the son of Jean-Michel Macron, a physician, and Françoise Noguès, a neurologist.

Political Career

Macron began his political career as an assistant to President Jacques Chirac. In 2007, he was elected to the French National Assembly. He served as Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs from 2014 to 2016.

In 2017, Macron founded the centrist party La République En Marche! and ran for president. He won the election with 58% of the vote, defeating far-right candidate Marine Le Pen.
