The man appears to square up to the police line before being hit once with a riot shield.
The incident happened on Saturday night as rival protest groups clashed in the city center. Several police officers have been injured and a police van was damaged in the violence.
A crowd of passers-by jeered as the man was pinned to the ground and put in a police van.
More than 100 far-Right demonstrations and 30 counter-protests are planned for tonight, police sources said.
The incident is the latest in a series of clashes between police and protesters in recent weeks.
